SATIS 2011, Successful Challenge! Paris, 22 November 2011 ‐ Held at the Halle Freyssinet in Paris from 8th - 10th November, SATIS shows very positive results. In welcoming 16,651 trade visitors and thanks to the diversity of exhibitors and success of the special events, workshops and master classes, the 2011 show was a great success. “The change of venue and the new dates appealed to the visitors, conference attendees and exhibitors,” emphasizes SATIS director Laurent Eydieu, “Spacious, practical, easily accessible and convivial, the new venue meets everyone’s expectations.” Among the High Points of the Event: A programme of more than 60 conferences of unprecedented variety allowed attendees to share the vision and testimony of a total of 145 speakers and experts. SATIS visitors ultimately benefited from an offering of over 62 hours of information through conferences, keynotes and exhibitor’s workshops. The panel discussions contributed amply to the success of SATIS 2011. Thanks to the show’s 5 conference areas, the key players in the market were able to discuss strategic matters pertaining to audio, broadcasting, cinema/TV, and corporate audiovisual solutions. Attendance figures reflect the success of the panel discussions: 2,757 visitors attended the conferences held in the Agora and the Théma conference areas, with attendance up 20% compared to 2010. A high point of the show, the keynote by Mathieu Kassovitz, whose film L’ordre et la Morale has just been released, captivated the public who attended in great numbers. The talks by Anne-Sophie Bion, editor of The Artist, and Nicolas Duval, director of Peter, also attracted and delighted many visitors…just some of the interactive and friendly moments shared; a reflection of the show! In addition, the Bepub workshops were widely acclaimed. There were in fact more than 120 participants at the 8 sessions offered. The DSLR MASTER CLASSES made it possible to democratize the use of the digital single-lens reflex cameras for shooting HD. The 14th International Multichannel Sound Forum welcomed 174 attendees with an array of guest speakers, including the great Swedish composer Aké Parmerud. The event concluded with the screening of the animated feature film “A Monster in Paris”. SATIS awards Creation and Innovation The panel of judges for the SATIS Trophées (awards bestowed on innovative products and services) handed out 12 awards in the categories of Production, Post-Production, Distribution, and Events (the winners names are posted on the SATIS website). For the first year, three awards for creation, the Trophées de la Création, were bestowed in the categories of Sound Design, Motion Design, and Web TV. Building on their success, the Trophées de la Création will be back in 2012… See you next year…from 13th – 15th November 2012!
